    Candle In The Window

Each day and night the candle burns,
To light your way back home,
To those who love and miss you,
From our hearts you’ve never roamed.

The glow of its light, caresses your face,
In the picture on the wall,
I clearly remember the day you stood proud,
As you answered our country’s call.

    That day, I was mesmerized,
    Overcome by bittersweet joy,
This strong, handsome man standing before me,
Where did the time go? Is this is my little boy?

I can still see your smile and the sparkle in your eyes,
As you gathered your gear and hurried,
I heard the tender control of your voice as you said,
    "I love you, mom...now, don’t worry."

The years pass slow and the days are long,
Since our last kiss and embrace,
    Oh, God, how I ache,
To gaze in your eyes and gently touch your face.

I’ll never stop searching or praying for you,
And the countless others that share your plight,
I swear, I shall be a thorn to those in power,
Until this wrong is made right.

For home is where you should be, and home is where you are not,
Although this is a hard and long quest,
Nothing - not even this - is impossible,
And one day, on American soil
    you shall walk or rest.

And so, my love, until we meet in heaven,
Know I’m with you and so many care,
But, if you need me, just close your eyes,
Reach for me, I promise, I’ll be there.

For, each day and night the candle burns,
To light your way back home,
To those who love and miss you,
From our hearts you’ve never roamed.

    "When he shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night,
And pay no worship to the garish sun."

"I am not bound to win,
but I am bound to be true.
I am not bound to succeed,
but I am bound to live by the light that I have.
I must stand with anybody that stands right,
stand with him while he is right,
and part with him when he goes wrong."

    POW/MIA Prayer

"Dear Father, I come into the Throne Room of Grace
and bring with me every POW/MIA from every war
    that America has fought.

Father, You established this country under the Blood Covenant.
These men have fought to keep it free, have been obedient and
have paid a high price for their loyalty to this nation.
    They have not come home.

Father, I ask, in the name of Jesus,
that You bring these Prisoners of War,
    and the Missing in Action,
home to the families that love them,
and to a country that appreciates them.

Father, please make the path before them
open and free for their return.

Please bless each and every POW/MIA,
give them grace and mercy, protect them,
    give them strength,
and cover them with the Precious Blood of Jesus.

Bless their families, keep them strong
and keep the flame of hope burning within them.

Thank You for bringing each and every Service man,
    woman and civilian home.
To You, Father, all praise, honor,
    and glory in Jesus’ name.
    Amen."

"The willingness with which our young people

the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated

    Remember Our POW/MIAs

You don't know what I suffer here,
You can not feel my grief despair,
    My agony is only known,
To men who have been caged alone.

I only feel a selfish pain,
A fear that I might pray in vain,
And never see again their faces or,
    Feel again their warm embraces.

They need my love while they are young,
With many fears to walk among,
They need my help to guide them through,
For me,the dangers are not new.

For how much longer must I wonder when,
My family can be mine again,
How many years can they survive,
Not knowing if I am dead or alive?

Before it is to late to try,
Before their lives must pass me by,
Please Bring me home and I'll be then,
    My children's father once again.

Dedicated To All Suffering With PTSD

    There are blessings in everything...
    Blessings come in many guise,
That God alone in love devises,
And sickness which we dread so much,
Can bring a very healing touch.

For often on the wings of pain,
The peace we sought before in vain,
Will come to us with sweet surprise,
For God is merciful and wise.

And through long hours of tribulation,
God gives us time for meditation,
And, no sickness can be counted loss,
That teaches us to bear our cross.
